Event Format

Face-Off Challenges

Three challenges. Team-versus-team. Points decide the champion gym.

Scoring System

Points awarded by placement on each challenge: 1st = 5 pts · 2nd = 4 · 3rd = 3 · 4th = 2 · 5th = 1. Opening Buy-In awards a flat 10 pts for completion.

Challenge 1

Opening Buy-In

Format: 12-minute EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute)

  • All athletes participate simultaneously.
  • Team that completes all 12 minutes = 10 points.

Challenge 2

Team Grind

Format: Each gym rotates through 3 stations · Placement scoring 1–5 pts

Station 1 — Max Rep Power Station

Challenge: 135 lb Barbell — Burpee into Deadlift

  • Goal: 100 team reps.
  • Clock: First to finish.
  • Team rotation allowed; each rep = burpee → deadlift (full lockout).

Station 2 — Weighted Lunge Relay

  • Goal: 800 yards total — lunge from 10 to 100 yds and back, 4×.
  • 8 athletes (Men & Women).
  • Men: 50 lb DBs · Women: 30 lb DBs.
  • No dropping dumbbells during the lunge — penalty: 15 push-ups before continuing.

Station 3 — Pull-Up Drop Set & Sprint Tag Team

  • Goal: Pull-up ladder from 10 → 1 reps. Team rotations allowed.
  • Pairs alternate: one does pull-ups + holds (chin-above-bar or dead hang); partner runs 100 yards.
  • Hold quality: chin-above-bar = full points · dead hang = half points for that round.
  • If hold breaks: athlete does 15 push-ups; runner restarts the sprint.

Challenge 3

Trainers Face-Off

Format: Tire Flip & Push-Up Gauntlet · Trainers only

  • Trainer 1 flips tire 10 yards (10–20 yd line), runs 100 yards out & back, then 25 push-ups.
  • Trainer 2 flips tire from 20–30 yd line, 100-yd run, then 25 push-ups.
  • Repeat until the tire reaches the 100-yard line.
  • Flipper must finish push-ups before the next flip.
  • No skipping push-ups · no same person flipping twice in a row.
  • Men: 25 push-ups · Women: 15 push-ups.
